Gold & financial sovereignty: FSRDC and SAEMAPE align around the AXIS Program

FSRDC and SAEMAPE launch strategic discussions on artisanal gold tokenization to strengthen financial sovereignty and community development in the DRC.

On Friday, January 10, 2026, the Fonds Social de la République Démocratique du Congo (FSRDC) held an important working session with the Small-Scale and Artisanal Mining Assistance and Supervision Service (SAEMAPE), represented by its Director General, Mr. Jean-Paul Kapongo Kadiobo.

The meeting, chaired by Mr. Philippe Ngwala Malemba, National Coordinator of the FSRDC, focused on a major strategic issue: the tokenization of gold assets within the framework of the AXIS Program, an innovative initiative aimed at transforming mineral wealth into a sustainable development lever.

Discussions centered on presenting the AXIS Program and defining areas of collaboration between FSRDC and SAEMAPE to transform artisanal gold mining into a structured tool for autonomous community financing, enhance traceability and transparency, increase local value addition, and contribute to the financial sovereignty of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The AXIS Program, initiated by His Excellency Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, President of the Republic, is coordinated by the FSRDC in partnership with Phoenix Capital BV. It aims to link innovative financial mechanisms, including tokenization, to national resources so that gold primarily benefits local communities.

This convergence between FSRDC and SAEMAPE marks a decisive step toward more inclusive mining governance, where artisanal mining becomes a lever for community development, economic stability, and social justice.

When gold becomes a driver of development, the DRC moves decisively toward assumed economic sovereignty.
