## Title Project for the Installation and Supply of Community Canteens for the Social Pricing Distribution of Basic Necessities to Low-Income Populations ## Background and Objectives This project, initiated by the President of the Republic and implemented by the FSRDC, aims to ensure access to basic food at social prices for vulnerable populations. It addresses the multi-layered crisis in the DRC, including food insecurity affecting 40% of the population. The strategy relies on two approaches: - Immediate distribution of imported essential products at affordable rates - Medium- and long-term support to local food production and processing ## Priority Beneficiaries - Military personnel - Police officers - Students - Patients - Poor communities in urban-rural areas ## Duration and Phasing - **Initial Duration**: 15 years (2024–2039) - **Phases**: 1. Kinshasa & Kongo-Central 2. Grand Bandundu, Kasaï, Katanga, Orientale 3. Grand Kivu & Équateur ## Public-Private Partnership Managed via PPP contract with Trade Coopérative Congo, a subsidiary of Trade Port (South Africa). ## Expected Outcomes - Product pricing at least 30% lower than market rate - Increased purchasing power - Prevention of social unrest - Strengthened national cohesion - Support for local economyMain activities
