Overview The STEP KIN program (Solidarity Program through Economic Transfers Against Poverty in Kinshasa) is an emergency intervention by the Congolese Government to financially support 250,000 poor and vulnerable households in Kinshasa, in response to the socio-economic shocks caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program is implemented by the Social Fund of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FSRDC) with support from the Government’s technical and financial partners. Objective To provide direct financial assistance to selected households in order to strengthen their resilience and improve their living conditions. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) How do I register for STEP KIN? Eligible populations will receive a mobile message survey via SMS (Vodacom) or USSD (Africel) during a two-week registration campaign. This is the only way to enroll. Can I register another way? No. Responding to the survey is mandatory to be considered for the program. How will I receive the money? Funds will be transferred via mobile money to accounts opened in your name through Vodacom MPesa or Africel Afrimoney. How much will I receive and for how long? Each beneficiary will receive $25 per month for 6 months, totaling $150. Where can I get help or make a complaint?
