FSRDC Accelerates Training of Youth and Women in Agricultural Trades in the DRC

As part of the concrete implementation of the Governance and Skills Development Support Project in support of the Agricultural Transformation Program (PAGDC-PTA), an important working session was held on May 07, 2026 in Kinshasa, between the team of the Social Fund of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FSRDC), led by Mr. Philippe Ngwala Malemba, and the PAMCI & AGRILIVING consortium, represented by Imonga Chipego, Deputy General Director, as well as Krishna Murty, Project Manager.

PAGDC-PTA Focuses on Youth and Agricultural Entrepreneurship
The PAGDC-PTA places youth and women entrepreneurship at the center of agricultural transformation in the DRC. Ultimately, 25,000 young people will be trained under the project.

A Clear Ambition for the First Cohort
For the first cohort, the ambition is already clear: 500 young people trained per province in agricultural incubation centers.
According to Frank Mbala, youth and women employment specialist for PAGDC-PTA, more than 3,000 young people have already been identified by the technical selection committee.

This initiative fully aligns with the vision of the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, known as “the revenge of the soil over the subsoil”, which aims to make agriculture a powerful driver of job creation, economic inclusion and sustainable prosperity for youth and women.
