## Project Summary **Project Title**: Support Project for Agricultural Value Chains under the Agriculture Transformation Program (PADCV-PTA) **Implementing Agency**: Social Fund of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FSRDC) **Project Duration**: 60 months (January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2029) **Target Areas**: Kongo Central, Kwango, Maï-Ndombe, Kasaï Oriental, Lomami, South Kivu **Start Date**: February 11, 2025 **Closing Date**: December 31, 2029 ## Development Objective To reduce food insecurity and the reliance on imported food in the DRC, while mitigating the negative effects of climate change and armed conflicts. ## Specific Objectives - Restore seed capital for rice, cassava, maize, and soybean value chains. - Improve crop yields in a sustainable manner. - Facilitate access to markets and financing for value chain actors. ## Project Components ### Component A: Agricultural productivity and output - Facilitate access to innovative technologies. - Provide agricultural advisory services. - Promote climate-smart agriculture. ### Component B: Development of resilient infrastructure - Develop irrigated agricultural schemes. - Construct resilient social infrastructure. - Improve rural access and connectivity. ### Component C: Structuring and financing value chains - Organize and formalize farmers' cooperatives. - Improve access to tailored financing. - Support contract farming and partnerships. - Promote economic inclusion of women, youth, and internally displaced persons (IDPs). - Support agribusiness and financial inclusion initiatives. ### Component D: Project coordination and management - Implement project management tools, conduct audits, monitor progress, and ensure proper environmental and gender governance. ## Expected Results - Reduce the number of food-insecure people from 5.8 million to 4.1 million (29.3% decrease). - Reduce food imports from 3 million USD to 2.5 million USD (16.6% decrease). - Achieve increased yields for rice, cassava, maize, and soybean. - Enhance access to services, markets, and finance for smallholders and displaced populations. ## Total Financing - ADF Loan: 250.4 million USD - FAT Loan: 10 million USD - Government and beneficiary contribution: 51.2 million USD - **Total Estimated Cost**: 311.6 million USD
